FAQs – Everything You Need to Know
💰 How much does it cost to book you?
Prices vary depending on the time of year, travel distance, and what you’re booking (ceremony, drinks reception, full day, etc).
10% deposit secures your date on the diary with the remaining balance to be paid a week or so before the big day
🎶 Do you know what you’re doing?
Absolutely. I’ve played hundreds of weddings, parties, and events across the UK and beyond. I know when to play, when not to, how to work around registrars, and where to set up for the best sound and flow. I’m fully self-contained and liaise with venue staff discreetly to keep things smooth and stress-free for you.
🔊 Do you bring all the gear?
Yes – I supply a top-quality PA system suited for anything from intimate ceremonies to big parties. For evening events, I also provide ambient lighting and a sleek performance backdrop. It all looks and sounds pro.
🛠 How long do you need to set up?
Ceremony – around 30 mins
Evening reception – up to 1 hour
I can set up in surprisingly small spaces – I’ve performed everywhere from vineyards to chapels to back gardens.
🔈 Our venue has a sound limiter – is that a problem?
Not usually. My solo show is very controllable volume-wise. If you’re booking the full band, let me know early so I can check the limiter type and decibel cap. Some venues can be tricky, but I’ll help guide you through it.
💃 Do we need to hire a DJ as well?
Probably not. I include:
Background music before/after sets
Party playlist between sets
Optional upbeat disco set after my performance
If you’d still prefer a DJ, I’m happy to coordinate with them – or recommend one I trust.
⏱ What’s the usual evening schedule?
Here’s a popular structure for a wedding party with a 6pm arrival:
6:00–7:30pm – Setup & soundcheck
7:30–8:00pm – Background music / guest arrivals
8:00pm – First dance & cake cutting
8:10–9:00pm – Live set 1
9:00–10:00pm – Buffet / DJ playlist
10:00–11:15pm – Live set 2
11:15–midnight – DJ playlist until the end
Top Tip: Try not to bring out the buffet during the live set – it splits the room and kills the vibe!
🎤 Can we choose the songs?
Yes – you can highlight favourites from my setlist, and I’ll work as many in as I can. I’ll also read the crowd and adjust live to keep the energy high.
📅 How do we book?
Just fill out a short booking form and pay a deposit (usually 10%). The remaining balance is due a week before the event.
Note: The deposit is non-refundable – please be sure before booking.

🚗 Are there any extra costs or hidden fees?
Nope. Travel, equipment, setup – it’s all included in your quote. I don’t charge VAT either.
🔌 Do we need to provide anything?
Just a few essentials:
2 x 13-amp plug sockets (not shared with catering)
A 3m x 3m space
Easy access for gear load-in
Parking for 1 van
For marquee events: proper flooring if it’s wet
Somewhere private to change, if possible
Soft drinks & a hot meal for long bookings
📜 Do you have insurance and safety certs?
Yes – all kit is PAT-tested, and I carry full Public Liability Insurance (up to £10 million). Certificates available to download if needed.
⚡️ What’s your power usage like?
We run efficient gear, including LED lighting. We typically draw around 16 amps total. If your event is in a marquee, make sure your generator can handle that – happy to advise!
🌍 Do you travel?
I’m based in Exeter but travel all over the UK – and even abroad if needed.
Anywhere is possible (with enough notice and a bit of planning).
🍽 Do you need feeding?
Yes please – just something hot and some soft drinks. We’re often on-site for up to 12 hours, and can’t always pop off to find food.
